From time to time, I get asked to do some maternity and baby shoots for my previous brides. Recently, it was one of the bridesmaids from one wedding we did last year, who contacted me to do her maternity photography. And few months later I came back to be introduced to baby Ava. Check out some of the pictures we came out with….
I entitled this “Grandma’s Lullaby”. I love the expresion on Ava’s grandma here as she tries to calm her down with a lullaby.

Ceremony and Reception- The Villa in Mountain Lakes in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. GORGEOUS PLACE! Love the European decor of the interior. It’s very elegant and definitely perfect for a dream weddings!

From time to time, I get requests like these. Erica, the bride, wanted to emulate a picture of her deceased mother’s bridal picture. For her this is a very emotional moment and I did my best to emulate it. Erica, your mother is for sure smiling down on you from heaven seeing this picture. Thanks for giving me the honor to photograph this.
The heat was in the high 90s during the ceremony…but the beautiful bride kept John focused.

Bride and Groom: Carelle Jade and Nelson. I was introduced to Carelle Jade by one of our previous client. When we met with Carelle Jade and Nelson, and her mother Eleanor, we all immediately clicked. We were so excited about their ideas, most especially their plan on fulfilling their dream wedding in Maui, Hawaii.
Ceremony and Reception: White Orchid Wedding Beach House, Makena, Maui, Hawaii. Nothing can beat this place for wedding location. The ceremony and reception are held next to the beach and the magnificent view of the sunset is just amazing! The black volcanic rocks blocking the giant waves near the beach house gives you a spectacular viewing experience of the beach in Maui. And of course, It’s a perfect background for any wedding shoot.
Event Planner: White Orchid Weddings. The wedding coordinators that day, Jacqueline Uilani Ishikawa and Linda Santos, were one of the best I’ve ever seen. They are so accommodating and very good in what they do. They turned the beach house into a very romantic and elegant-looking wedding venue. Kudo to you guys for making Carelle Jade and Nelson’s wedding the best!
Spa: Trudy’s Fountain of Youth. The girls went for an amazing massage and spa, the day before the wedding. Trudy’s staff are pretty amazing and very professional!

To welcome their guests, Carelle Jade and Nelson, treated everyone to a Luau dinner in the Lahaina area in Maui, Hawaii. Here’s a little something about Luau:
A luau (in Hawaiian, lu‘au) is a Hawaiian feast. It may feature food, such as poi, kalua pig, poke, lomi salmon, opihi, haupia, and beer; and entertainment, such as Hawaiian music and hula.
Before the Luau started, the k?lua pig, was dug up from the Imu (an underground oven). This way of cooking dates back from the ancient Hawaiians:
Traditionally, extremely hot volcanic (lava) rocks were placed in a hole approximately 6′ by 4′ by 3′ and the hole was lined with vegetation such as banana leaves. A salted pig was placed inside and covered with more banana leaves to preserve theheat and flavor. Then, it was covered with burlap and soil, and left to steam all day. Once removed from the imu, the pig was ready to be served.
And ofcourse, the highlight of the Luau – the gorgeous hula dancers…LOL
On the wedding day, I found some spots around the hotel that shows the beauty of Maui, while shooting detail shots for the wedding – a small waterfalls at the Makena Beach and Golf Resort.
Tatay and Nanay, escort Carelle Jade as she walks down the aisle. Tatay and Nanay (dad and mom in Filipino) are Carelle jade’s grandparents, who have a big role in raising her before she migrated to the US to join her mother when she was nine years-old.
Tatay cannot control his tears as he witnesses his baby get married.

Gorgeous sunset and strong winds on the beach helped create this amazing image of the bride and groom.
And the following day….we trashed the dress!…it’s actually her reception dress. =)
Getting married in Maui was a dream come true to this couple. And I thank them for choosing me to document their special day.

…who will be tying the knot today at The Church of Saint Joseph in Bronxville, NY. The reception follows at the VIP Country Club in New Rochelle, NY. It’s going to be a lovely day for a wedding.
We met Jaclyn and Johnny through our previous client Meredith from her wedding last year. They are a sweet couple and they chose The Catholic University of America in Washington DC, where they met while going to school, as their engagement session venue. We also went around DC to capture some images showing the beauty of DC at night….check out this image form their engagement.
So excited to shoot Mary’s wedding this Saturday. It’s going to be a “platinum wedding” at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia.
Mary and Joe are an exemplary couple! Love working with them through out their wedding planning process. Their engagement session was a blast. I took them to Longwood Gardens and even Joe got that GQ moves at the end. LOL
