I was supposed to be in Dubai last week, but due to my trip’s cancellation, I took advantage of this time to unwind and relax, so I chose the Northwest (it’s actually my first REAL break since the start of the wedding season last May).

Here’s a picture of me along the beach in Oceanshores in WA. It’s about 1 hour away from where I used to live in Olympia.

Today I together with my intern Tyler responded to an accident scene, where a tractor trailer overturned along Route 141 in New Castle, DE. As soon as we got there, Tyler shot still photos of the scene while I shot video. I wanted to transmit Tyler’s photos for our newspaper’s web update but I realized that I did not have my laptop. So I pulled out my new 16GB iPhone that has a built in digital camera and shot the accident scene while holding the phone still in my hand. I emailed the photo to the newsroom and the image was up on the web minutes after the accident. It was not the best photo out there, but it gave the readers an idea what caused the traffic along Route 141.

It’s my pleasure to announce that one of my images won in the Wedding Photojournalism Association Quarterly contest. This is my first year to enter in this contest, competing with thousands of other photographers all over the world. And it feels really encouraging to shoot good seeing one of my images win in this prestigious contest.

Here’s one interesting wedding I shot recently. I call it the GREEN WEDDING! From the wedding invitations and guestbook made of recycled elephant poop, to the wheat grass given away as their party favors, this wedding has all the environmental-friendly elements written all over it. I’ve just been so busy with the wedding season. I am having fun though. I am blessed with such amazing brides! I will be posting some of my recent works from time to time, whenever I get some free time (when I am not editing or shooting wedding photos).
