Once again, I made it to the finals in the Best of Weddings Contest. My images below will advance to the final judging during the WPPI Convention in Las Vegas in February 2009. Please wish me luck.

Today, January 20, 2009 Barack Obama is going to be sworn in as the nation’s first African-American president. On Saturday, January 17, 2009, he undertook a whistle-stop train journey that symbolically links him to the nation’s icon Abraham Lincoln. Like Lincoln, who travelled by rail from Philadelphia to Washington on the last leg of his journey to be sworn in for his first term in 1861, Obama too had traveled from the birthplace of the nation’s democracy to the capital city. On his way to DC, he made a historic stop in Wilmington, Delaware, where Delaware native Vice-president elect Joe Biden joined him in his journey via train. I am fortunate to be part of documenting this event.

- Amazing images from such a great time to be alive and experiencing this change!January 21, 2009 - 3:37 pm
Here are some from today’s front pages that ran my photo of Obama and Biden during yesterday’s historic Whistle Stop in Wilmington, Delaware.

And check out some websites, including the Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, etc., that ran my images on their websites. It was a fun experience!

I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to capture this historical moment in photographs. Though it was below 20 degrees out there today, I braved the low temperatures to be part of this important coverage. My team of photographers were amazing!
